Macrotown Adventures® was created by Parvaze Ghani, a father, an author and storyteller with a passion for helping children understand their bodies, food and wellbeing positively and imaginatively.
The idea behind Macrotown Adventures® grew from real-life events and a belief that children should learn about health, nutrition and their bodies through creativity, storytelling and curiosity rather than fear or restriction.
Through colourful characters, engaging adventures and meaningful stories, Macrotown Adventures® introduces children to the idea that their bodies are incredible places where different nutrients and elements work together to keep them healthy and strong.
Recognising the potential for these stories to support children beyond books alone. Macrotown Adventures CIC was established t bring the vision to life in schools and communities through workshops, learning programmes and partnerships with organisations that share the same commitment to children’s wellbeing.
As the author and creator, Parvaze Ghani continues to develop the Macrotown Adventures® stories and characters, while the CIC works to ensure the initiative can reach children across communities and make a lasting positive impact.
The long-term vision is for Macrotown Adventures® to become a trusted and creative resource that supports children’s learning, wellbeing and confidence in understanding their bodies and the choices they make throughout the country and globally.
We create fun and engaging stories that help children understand food, wellbeing, growth and healthy habits in ways they can relate to.
We deliver storytelling workshops, author visits and educational activities that complement literacy, PSHE and wellbeing learning.
We work with libraries, community organisations and local partners to ensure children have access to books and learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
Our stories encourage positive conversation around wellbeing, healthy choices, confidence and self-awareness.
We use storytelling to inspire reading, imagination and a lifelong love of books.
Macrotown Adventures® began with a simple but important idea, that children should be able to understand their bodies and wellbeing in a way that feels inspiring, positive and easy to understand.
For many children, conversations about food, health and nutrition can lead to confusion or become overly complicated. Messages about what is ‘good’ or ‘bad’ can sometimes create pressure or uncertainty rather than curiosity and understanding.
After a real-life event which got me thinking, I began imagining a world where the different elements of the body and nutrition could come to life as characters and adventures. A world where children could explore how their bodies work through imagination and storytelling rather than instructions.
In the world of Macrotown, children discover that their bodies are remarkable systems where different nutrients and elements work together to keep everything running smoothly. Through stories and characters, complex ideas became simple, memorable and fun.
What began as a creative idea soon developed into something bigger. I realised that these stories could help support schools, families and communities in introducing positive conversations about wellbeing at an early age.
That is why Macrotown Adventures® CIC was established. To bring the stories beyond books and into schools, libraries and communities through workshops, storytelling and creative learning experiences.
The ambition for Macrotown Adventures® is simple but meaningful: to help children feel curious about their bodies, confident in understanding them and empowered to make positive choices as they grow.
Macrotown Adventures® is still at the beginning of its journey, but the vision is clear. To create creative movement that helps children learn about wellbeing through imagination, storytelling and curiosity.
And sometimes the most powerful way to begin that journey is with a story.
